They will first perform at 8:30 pm on Friday, August 5 at Rattanakosin Lounge, The Sukosol. Tickets for this event are Baht 600 nett with one standard cocktail or mocktail, Baht 400 nett with one mocktail \u00a0for students, \u00a0and Baht 1,500 nett with cocktail\/mocktail and a pre-show buffet dinner at Patummat International Restaurant in the hotel.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, they will also be on stage the following night (Saturday, August 6) at 7:15 pm in the Opium Den, The Siam. The price is Baht 1,200++ and includes one hour of free-flow cocktails and canap\u00e9s, cefore the show starts (6:00-7:00pm). Afterwards enjoy Thai cuisine at Chon Restaurant with a 15% discount.<\/p>\n

In addition, there is a special 50% discount for Sukosol Gourmet members (ticket prices Baht 600 nett).<\/p>\n

About The Whiffenpoofs<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n

Every year, 14 talented Yale men are selected to join The Whiffenpoofs , the world\u2019s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group. Founded in 1909, “The Whiffs” began as a senior quartet that met for weekly concerts at Mory\u2019s Temple Bar, the famous Yale Tavern. The Whiffenpoof Song, the group\u2019s signature ballad, gained nationwide recognition when Rudy Vall\u00e9e recorded a solo version in 1937. The song would later become one of the popular tunes of World War II. Later on, Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Elvis Presley, and many other artists followed suit with their own recordings.<\/p>\n

Today, the group has become one of Yale\u2019 s most celebrated and hallowed traditions, maintaining a performance schedule of over 200 concerts annually in addition to recording an album and embarking on a three-month world tour.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the Whiffenpoofs have performed for the likes of presidents Obama, Clinton, Bush II, Bush I, Mother Theresa and the Dalai Lama, in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Rose Bowl, and for events and programs such as the World Series, Saturday Night Live, The West Wing, NBC\u2019s The Sing-OFF, and Fox\u2019s Glee.<\/p>\n
