Organic Food at The Sukosol

Organic Food at The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok

As part of The Sukosol’s ongoing sustainability efforts, our hotel is working with the Sookjai Organic Community to offer guests more organic and sustainably produced food as part of Patummat’s daily buffet spread.

Every week, The Sukosol is committed to purchasing organic vegetables and fruits from the farmers that work directly as part of the Sookjai Community and we prepare these ingredients for use in the daily buffets. Executive Chef Jeremy Harris and his team have found creative ways to use the produce, for example deep-fried butterfly pea flowers or as delicious ingredients in Thai spicy salads.

In addition, all the Jasmine and Riceberry rice offered to guests in Patummat is organically produced and sourced from farmers in Amnartcharoen Province in Northeastern Thailand.

By working directly with the farmers (through the Sookjai Community), we help to support these farmers livelihoods as well as reduce the negative impact of synthetic chemicals on the environment.

About the Sookjai Organic Community Enterprise

Founded with the aim of improving the distribution and marketing of organic produce, the Sookjai Organic Community Enterprise has been supporting organic farmers for 8 years. They have 12 group members and more than 170 households in Nakhonpathom, Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi and Prachuap Khirikhan. These households produce rice, vegetables, fruits and livestock under the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) and Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS). By promoting and stabilizing demand for organic produce, the Sookjai Community can support farmers that want to move towards more sustainable practices.
